Who is Buddha? Part I

Who is Buddha ? Part I

Buddha was born Gautana Siddhartha to a wealthy ruler of a tribe in Lumbini, Nepal in 563 B.C. He lived in a palace and he became aware that many people did not share in his privileged lifestyle.

When he was twenty nine, he decided to leave his rich home , his wife and child and all of his wealth. He decided that life was suffering and he became a wandering seeker. For six years he sought the ultimate truth in life by constantly meditating and by eating and drinking very little. He discovered enlightenment or the buddha way in 528. The buddha way involves using meditation and proper living to learn to give up several paths that are distracting a person from seeing the light or enlightenment. This is why people meditate on Buddha's sculpture. He also believed that behaving in a compassionate way towards others would help us become enlightened and that we should help people round us whenever we can.

gotta joke....if Buddha walked everywhere, his feet must have been tough, if he didn't eat much, he must not have been healthy and if he lived outdoors, maybe his breath was not fresh...so...what if he was a super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis?
Ha ha...I know that is bad but I couldnt' resist!
Love,
