Ode to the Knight

Google assembled these pictures

Ode to the Knight

The knight

was daunted;

his chess pieces

thwarted/

across the floor

He looked to

the ceiling

An angels'

repose

gave inkling

(Nerves' sinue)

to battle

once more

Not for self...

Not for country...

(he was dying)...

No.

But for mankind

And womankind

He threw open

the doors...

Found against

Prejudice

and Ignorance

his Rook

And his Pawn

Became Knights!

Valor grew

And honor shone

When this knight lifted

His sword

Martin Luther King Day: Let's Celebrate Our Hero

Google assembled these pictures

Let's celebrate Martin Luther King Day!

I have so many memories about Martin Luther King!

He stood up against blatant racism and in humane public policies, whether it be on the bus, in schools and in the work place. He created, along with others in this movement, the room for us to "not be confined" by our race, our neihgborhoods, our thoughts, but rather to have a broader prespective on our communities, our ways of thinking and our freedom.

I have always admired Ghandi as he did. Ghandi did much to "free" India so that India's people could be free to act and think and have an equal footing in the world.

What do you think?

Also, what do you perceive that Martin Luther King did to further America and the West?

Google assembled these pictures

It's Elvis Presley's birthday! (looks up..) "Happy Birthday Elvis!"

Do you have a favorite ELvis tune?

You may list more than one...

Please tell us what you like about Elvis...

Ty

ps for me the favorite songs would be:

"blue suede shoes"

"Blue Christmas"

and"All Shook up", "In the Ghetto"

HE did appear to give people awhole differetn way to look at rock and roll; a thing we are all grateful for. And rent a movie to see how he danced! HE was not my contemporary; but I still admired him a lot.

My favorite thing about him was that he truly cared for people very much.

That is what people said in his biographies.

Sometime

we will meet again

When the stars

Are high

On the horizon

When the flowers

Are bloominh wide

 in the meadow

You will have children then

You face will bear

The look

of experience

Your heart

And my heart

Will Connect

As we watch

Your children

Create

Dance

and Sing

Scalzi's Assignment; How Do you Experience New York?

"New York,New York..."(famous song)

I remember how everyone has always been impressed (me included) with Broadway; live plays here. It's a great tradition!Very alive!I remember that The Metropolitan Museum of Art has some of the finest shows in the world ever.I remember that some of the smaller hotels have grace and style...

911 changed New York. It changed our world as we knew it. We felt closer all over the country to New Yorkers. very close. And very sad. But we pulled together.

Okay now it's your turn...

Please tell us how you see New York and leave a link please..TY!

Dalai Lama Airs on Education, Ideal Children

Google assembled these pictures

Dalai Lama'sViews on Education, Children's upbringing

Shambala

January 2007

Dalai Lama thinks that ideally children should be brought up compassionate, caring, peaceful adn tolerant. He or she should learn how to be a good citizen in the ancient Greek tradition. The ideal student , he says, will see his fellow student as his brother or sister.

Salai Lama says that "heart education" is more important that head education.

The Dalai saya that we can raise students who are not fullof fear, anxiety and hatred; but rather are full of"self awareness, anger management and impulse control."

The Dalai has aplan for this which I will go into next. First, do you beleive that this is possible? To what degree? How much outside support and teaching (tutoring one-on -one) would this take? Please give us your opinions!

In other words, if it workd for you, tell us why please.

If it doesn't work for you, tell us why please and what would be better in your opinion.

Susan Koeppen answers "How Can I Lessen my Credit Payments

Google assembled these pictures

Susan Koeppen , a Financial Advisor at CBS, answers the question"How Can I Lessen my Credit Payments?"

CBS

January 4,2007

Ms. Koeppen had some advice for lowering your credit paymens if they has risen up above 11%.

She said to use these steps:

1.Know your interest rate. If you don't know your curretn rte, call your company and ask them.

2.Know if you pay on time. If yu don't know, check.

Assuming that at the moment you are, you can say:"I'm a good custommer and I apy on time, so I'm worth a better rate than I have currently."

3.Know your credit score. If you don't, go to MyFica.com.

If your credit score is good, you should tell them to lower your payemnt rate.

4. Try one manager. If you don't get help from him or her, call back adn ask for adifferent manager. Try few. Ms. Koeppen says that it can make a big difference.

5. Ms. Koeppen says to check on your card rating too and see how much it costs to tranfer to another company.

6. She says only try one transfer a year.

What do you think? Will this be of use?
