Memorial Day for us

We have relatives who have stood up to the Nazis. We know what it was like to be out in the cold with no help coming and your friends dying. We know what the heroes gave and how much it cost them. It cost them everything and yet they had the guts to stand up for you and me and die for our freedom . Let's remember them and honor them. Let's be worth it.

How We Bloggers are weaving a Community

Some bloggers whose work I have read have agreed to read my journals and comment back and it's really giving me that new edgy feeling that we are  in the process of doing some creative barn building together!

It's very new and kind of far out and zanny... Ondine can drop a beautiful photo with a great piece of prose with it and I will feel uplifted.. or Lisa will tell a story about her funny day with the kids and husband and some serious thoughts about her health and I'm there...Or Unicorngirl will tell me about her life adn her philosophies. Kris and dragonrose throw in some tales and my eldest child will bring new feedback to life.

Thanks Guys!

Star Wars in the Beginning

When Star Wars was new, it was a shining star; we had never seen a movie of its' kind (dimensional, with many spacecraft and several entertaining scenes which differed from one another.) Young people admired the Princess because she had courage to "fight the good fight" along with Skywalker even if she died trying.

Skywalker was fun and some times funny :).

Chewybaca was hillarious. The fight scene at the bar was so much fun because it gave comic relief and people used to love to compare the weird creatures who were there.:).

Darth Vader was so bad; and his robotic helpers were everywhere.

Everyone loved to play with the laser swords and they used to hand them out at parties.

my favorite teacher

My favorite teacher was Mrs. Wilton. She enjoyed us totally. She required us to memorize "If" by Rudyard Kipling. The poem changed my life. We also read

the poem "The Tree" and I wrote a poem.

She made us believe that each of us was unique and that everybody was important.

my mother

My mother was a big believer in bringing people home from other countries to dinner. It was her way of creating a larger community for everyone to enjoy. She was very creative, smart and she had a great sense of humor. She was very compassionate and she was a great volunteer. My mother was a friend to many.
