The Prime Minister of Israel suffered a huge stroke. He had to have surgery to drain the blood from his brain to stay alive.

HIs power has been transferred to his deputy, Mr. Ehud Lomet, who is now active Prime Minister.

Benjamin Naetanyahu was due to face Sharon in an election in March.

Netanyahu is thought in Israel by experts to have better c to win than Lomet.

It is a difficult time for a Nation when a beloved leader is stricken close to an election period.  It's hard enough on any nation when a leader is stricken at all.  I pray that Israel will be able to retain order as the baton of leadership is passed and new elections are held.
