Karma

Karma

In India as in other Asian countries many people believe that your actions generate good or bad results depending on whether you treat well or poorly.

They believe that at the end of life you will be judged by a superior tribune and you will have a greater or a lesser life in a reincarnation the next time around.

It means that you could become a mouse or you could become a powerful person, depending on how you behave now.

What do you think?

Interesting that you ask that question, Natalie. You've been presenting the beliefs of different faiths lately, and I've been following you, thinking about all these things. I don't believe in that one! Although I do believe that your actions here on earth, in this life, generate good or bad results depending on whether you treat people well or poorly, or more accurately, with respect or disrespect. I believe there is a judgment in the end, but I don't believe in reincarnation.  I believe in an afterlife, but not to return in some lower form or higher form for another chance to prove myself worthy of heaven. Jesus saves us from having to do such things!  :-) That's what I think.  Bea

I think it is all kind of an allegory. that if you have more good actions , nore good will return to you and the world in general. Mor ebad avtions make our souls smaller,.

I believe in the rule of three...which basically states that everything you do good or bad comes back to you threefold...and that has a lot to do with karma for me.

Karma, the idea of what goes around comes around. that you get back what you put out there. i think its complete...bs.

its nice to think when you're the kid thats picked on in school that you'll have a great life and the popular kids will not. doesn't work out like that. its nice to think that if you have a crap childhood you'll have a wonderful adulthood. it doesn't work out like that. its nice to think that you'll get rewarded for the good things you do. Some believe this will happen in heaven. i'm most likely to believe this than some kind of reincarnation based upon actions in the current life.

they say absolute power corrupts absolutely. so if you've lived a good life and get reincarnated as someone powerful in your next, surely being powerful will eventually lead to corruption. or decisions made based upon selfish desires. thus in your next life would you not be but a worm or snake forced to slither along until some mean human kills you?

Adam believes that when you die, you die. that's it. the peace that comes from death is its own reward. i'm most likely to believe in heaven, being a bad Christian. But I do remember what Marx said about religion being the opium of the masses.
this idea of a reward in heaven or punishment in hell keeps some people in line. a religious police force using scare tatics.

but in the end, who knows.
