When Music Wanders in...

When Music Wanders in....

Isn't in funny how old melodies seep into our consciousness suddenly..as if they reappeared out of now where and are here to stay?

I was cleaning in the hallway and all of the sudden "An American in Paris" by Gershwin came into my mind. Ah!!!Those dulcet tunes really can bring harmony in!

Earlier , I was remembering "Rhapsody in Blue"... but sometimes it is that beautiful song about the moonlight by Chopin...or I will focus on an instrumental...

Has this happened to you lately....

Yes! Sometimes an old tune from so far back I cannot even remember the name of it. Mostly, I think the oldest tunes that seep into my awareness without any perceivable reason seem to come from the time before my family moved to England. That would be 1957-58. Tunes I heard on the radio. They had a latino sound, trumpets. I doubt I've heard them since. We were livingin Waterbury, CT at the time. Not necessarily popular tunes, but still, when they replay in my head, I wonder who the musician was. Another tune that I remember when I was very young, probably the first song I "fell in love with", played on the radio in my grandmother's home one evening. I think the song was released in 1962. I was nine years old at the time. bea
