Pearl Harbor: We Must Remember

Pearl Harbor: We Must Remember

( Penny , Firestorm4kids, reminded me of this day in her blog"From Here to There"!A great blog to visit!)

On this day in December 7, 1941, Japanese fighter planes dropped bombs on our Navy ship; swiftly killing most of the men on board and sinking the ship USS Arizona.

It is the day that united Americans and threw us committed into World War II. We were determined to do the right thing and protect our people from further attacks.

Please honor all veterans and servicemen and women today! Please leave comments for them TY!

I have a friend who was living there as a baby when that attack occurred. Her grandmother was raising her and the woman told her stories that could break your heart.

As for the veterans of the past and present wars, there are no words that can express the thanks and praise they deserve. God bless them all past, present and future.

The Japanese got what was coming to them in 1945. I have no pity at all for them.

A sad day for sure- I tear up any time I see any of the old footage of the planes coming in, knowing what's coming next, and whenever I see pictures of the memorial of the Arizona.  I hate war- but I am so grateful and thankful to know that there are so many who are willing to fight for this country- and for the world.  As we remember Pearl Harbor, you can't not think of what's going on today, and I am still thankful for these new generations of brave men and women.  I just wish the rest of the world would remember that just like the greatest generation fought not just fot the freedoms of this country- but also the rest of the world- it is still the same today.  When America is free from terror and hateful people, so is the rest of the world.  I'm sad mostly that we are losing so many of the greatest to old age- and that I've not been able to talk to many of them as much as I wish I could.  Please- go thank Sam, at samsays.  He wasn't at pearl harbor, but joined the service right after and faught in the pacific.   God Bless them all- then and now!!Carolyn
