Natalie donates to New Orleans

when you comment at the end here

Hi!Please say something positive about New Orleans. You have it on faith: My kid and I are giving 25cents per comment and no repeating please.

I want to do this and you want to comment!

My kid's school is giving money to the kids who are in a shelter in Baker, Louisiana who need foster care.

It's cool because some families from New Orleans are volunteering to go with them!

So make a positive comment !I will take this off when we get tons of comments and I'll leave another journal up to tell you how many of you made this boat float! Love you guys!

See ya', natalie

An update:

OUr sherrif's office here had identified 1,500 displaced kids in (actually) Baker, Louisiana!

Your comments were so positive, that I contacted our extended family and friends. We are giving these kids $100.00 and supplies! It is a drop in the bucket guys to the big problem, but Gee it makes me feel good. hugs all around, natp.s. thanks for being so helpful!

That is a wonder idea & even more wonder to get your kids to be involved & learn from all this! I'm so glad your kids' school is doing this. Maybe when they are older they will be more concerned with the environment, social programs for others less fortunate, animals etc than the previous generations! We can only hope!

Your heart is inspirational. It's great to see people so involved and including their children. They are never too young to learn the lesson of helping others...

My son's school is also having all different sorts of things going on right now to raise money for New Orleans victims.  They are even going to have an auction where they will auction off some of their own artwork (of course that means the parents will buy it!).  This is a wonderful thing you are doing Nat!!
Hugs and love,
Lisa

Nat, it's easy to say something positive about New Orleans.  It's such a beautiful city.  I have so much family from there and in that area.  New Orleans is a resilient city with a determined population.  They will rebuild and be a vibrant community again.  What a great thing you and your child are doing.  Thanks, Nat!

You and your kids are the hugest sweethearts!
And I'm so happy to hear about the 1500 displaced kids!!!!
This whole tragedy is so hard to believe and yet here we are over 3 weeks later, still seeing the aftermath and waiting for the next hit. It's a little overwhelming...
My comment about New Orleans? A vibrant, colorful city once filled with laughter, jazz music, smells of gumbo and happy faces. A truly memorable city to visit within the diversity of cities that make up our once great country.
(sorry, I had to add the word "once" becuase I am very depressed lately about this country's future)
XOXO

All my life, New Orleans was where the magic was. I heard about it often as the epitome of sin and degradation, so as soon as I could drive, of course I went straight there.I was not ever disappointed.

What a generous offer! Our church planned a huge community barbecue with all donated foods, and all the money raised was sent to help rebuild the churches in New Orleans. You are a rocking family!
