A Peaceable Kingdom

China did move to strike the ability to write journals on the Internet all over China.People in the government there do not wish for the citizens to be able to write their mind. They are now going to monitor all blogs and people have to restate theri loyalty to the communist party.

In 2004, the Chinese took measures to make sure Taiwan was scared of their military forces by sending soldiers to Taiwan en masse to scare the Taiwanese into submission.

People are we sure that we can have a peaceable kingdom with a government who only honors a chosen few? Many people are encouraged to leave the country and work like a dog in big cities without even a roof over their heads and no assistence to get one.

China has had a history of opression of the citizens there. Yet they ARE slated to be the next world power.

However, I am not entirely convinced we in America have the "Democracy" and "freedom" we all like to crow about. Opression is all about us here, it is just more subversive, below the surface, quiet and therefore somehow more dangerous.

As for the Chinese soldiers being sent to Taiwan I have not read or heard of any such measure being taken in any of the news services I follow... BBC, CBC, Nipon Broadcasting... can you share the source of this story with your readers? I would think an aggresive action like this would be a call for war and would bring Taiwan's biggest supporter, America, into the fray. This is indeed disturbing news.

Wow, I didn't know any of this was going on!  But, then again, I don't watch the news or read the papers.  This is awful!
Hugs and love, Lisa
