What Teenage Clothes would you drop?:Scalzi's assignment

Tell us what clothes you used to wear that you no longer wear!

I used to  love lacey clothes!

For me it would be bright tie dyes, paisley prints, and long jeans; often decorated.

Your turn! TY

Ode to the Knight

Google assembled these pictures

Ode to the Knight

The knight

was daunted;

his chess pieces

thwarted/

across the floor

He looked to

the ceiling

An angels'

repose

gave inkling

(Nerves' sinue)

to battle

once more

Not for self...

Not for country...

(he was dying)...

No.

But for mankind

And womankind

He threw open

the doors...

Found against

Prejudice

and Ignorance

his Rook

And his Pawn

Became Knights!

Valor grew

And honor shone

When this knight lifted

His sword

Martin Luther King Day: Let's Celebrate Our Hero

Google assembled these pictures

Let's celebrate Martin Luther King Day!

I have so many memories about Martin Luther King!

He stood up against blatant racism and in humane public policies, whether it be on the bus, in schools and in the work place. He created, along with others in this movement, the room for us to "not be confined" by our race, our neihgborhoods, our thoughts, but rather to have a broader prespective on our communities, our ways of thinking and our freedom.

I have always admired Ghandi as he did. Ghandi did much to "free" India so that India's people could be free to act and think and have an equal footing in the world.

What do you think?

Also, what do you perceive that Martin Luther King did to further America and the West?

She has dedicated her poetry blog to the memory of her father, who used to write poetry!

The first poem that she posted is touching and her father wrote it.

Her poems are very warm and entertaining!

They give us lots of insight and nice thoughts about her children, her husband, and her life in sunny California!

Enjoy!
