Preface:This is a fictional account of a grandfather wanting more for his grandchild.
Do not dance
On my grave
Little one...
Though many have;
and will...
They need you
To run
The flock
Down the hill
To paint a
painting
Dream on : persist
And in
Your Quest
Secure
A bearing
More than most;
A new route;
A different sight
Will grant
A maiden voyage
Set sail
to Sea;
And Look
Formore
than I've offered
Thee;
Don't give in
To arrogance
And sloth; no!
Trudge on
And the map
Is yours

It is hard to get back to the living once someone has died. But we all need to. I really like the poem.

I like the part about trudging on then the map is ours....I think to many people want things instantly,big house big car, cash etc.So a lot can be said for "trudging on" and mapping out a good path not only for ourselves but our future generation.Love this poem! Thanks Nat!-(also thanks for stopping by my journal-greatly appreciated!) Love Shauneen

With loving guidance to follow a humanitarian ethos we can all leave the best legacy for our children and their children to follow. I found this poem very moving. Jeanie
