Yom Kippur starts this evening, October 1st, and continues until tomorrow evening.
It is the holiest day of atonement.Jewish people will be praying and fasting in an effort to get on the right path, gain insight, and forgiveness for past failures to follow God's law perfectly.
Some Christians will be trying to gain insight too.
Happy New Year!

I didn't know that was today... thank you for telling us, Nat! bea
Yeah, not a fan. I'm not Jewish, so why do my kids have off from school? Sorry, I just get annoyed by holidays that prevent kids from going to school...especially on a MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it sounds interesting, not so familar with this Jewish holiday, but anything that gets people back on their spiritual path is a good thing.
