"Early Detection With CT Scans May Save Lives" by Gina Kolata
CT Scans Might Save Lives: What do you Think?
Kolata says that researchers at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital say many lives can be saved by finding lung cancer early on in thse scans.
Lung cancer is still the leading cancer in this country according to many researchers ; killing about 160,000 people a year.
Researchers predicted that more than 80 percent would live at least another ten years if their cancer was caught early.
This study group included more than 31,00 people in seven countries according to the Journal of New England medicine.
What do you think? are CTs a valuable test to have?
Let us know!

These are tests you can do just for lungs. Have you ever had an imaging test? Have you ever lost anyone to lung cancer?

They are very expensive and I have a hard time doing them for they are not a "fun" test to do, but if a person wants to use them to detect for early cancer then they can, but that doesn't mean their insurance will cover them. I just had one done and I hadn't met my insurance deductible yet and ouch on that price!

I say, anything & everything that can be done should be done. Are these covered by most insurance plans? They should be. My dear beloved Mother died of lung cancer, after having fought off bladder cancer & then being in Alzhiemers when she passed.

Sorry, doing some catching up...my weekend has been wild...I am so behind...
CT Scans are great...they have helpded my Mom so much with her cancer diagnosis...where the cancer is located...and more. They have the newest models out too close to us..which helps for future use...hopefully we won't need them but if we did ...they are great...thanks for sharing.
Love,
Joyce
