Precious Cargo In My Dreams
I'd carry you
through ice and snow
your kit snug
across my back;
your rope pulled
across my shoulder pack
And should rivers meet
And tips of a dike unfold-
I's pull you across
the rivers' road;
My glacial hands and feet holding
the rivers' crossing
where they meet
I'd carry you;
My sweet cargo
"till I knew, Captain,
you were safe
'tho snares of wolves
And sorry baits
Begged
At my back;
I'd push on.
I'd carry you Still;
Dreaming Strong
Of Love on hold
Frozen
To my gait
Of Dreams
And Child ther
At my Wait:
my Libido
frozen solid
To my back;
As through frozen wood
I'd hack
And push my weight
And saw and haw
"till you were safe.
