What is Buddhism?
Buddhism refers to the practice of meditating and living a good life so that one can escape all of the negative traps on the wheel of life.
Interestingly, there are different groups with Buddhism that express different points of view about the meaning of life.
The Zen Buddhists for example believe in meditating to reach the emptiness of life and understand it.
The Compassionate Buddhists believe in meditating to expand the size of one's heart and of one's compassion.
They believe that one must also perform volunteer duties to one's fellow man.

Meditating is a good thing regardless of the reason as long as it is positive. :)

I have not read much about Buddhists, so I wasn't aware of the two categories. I find in myself a leaning toward Zen and Compassionate Buddhists... I guess we all have a balance of some kind of faith. Even a Christian can see the value of Buddhist practices. Thanks for giving me another topic to research. :-) Bea
