Are Respect, Kindness and Good Manners Important to You?

Google did the pictures

Are Respect, Kindness and Good Manners Important to you?If so, how can we keep these things alive in society today?

(Introduction: After writing that last blog (thank you John Scalzi for the interesting assignment!)

I got some very interesting and telling responses.

People have some issues built up around being treated poorly by other people here, in traffic, at schools,in stores and the office, or even at home.

Respect and self esteem are so important to the well being of our society and so important to our self esteem. Please talk about your thoughts and feelings around this issue.TY

What Things Make you Go Nuts?(Don't Make Sense!)

What Things Make You Go Nuts?(Don't Make Sense!)

(John Scalzi's assignment)

List things that you think defy logic; things that don't make sense.

One thing I think is totally goofy is a burial by rocket out into space!:):) I think it is certifiable to pay someone to send your remains out inot outer space!

People pay thousands of dollars up front for this!

I think peanut butter and anchovy sandwiches should not be allowed! The combination is enough to really ruin any thoughts of future eating!

Okay it's your turn! Please leave a link or write down a couple of things that you think don't make sense!

Ondine Monet:Suddenly Carly :We Watched the Whale Rider

Ondine Monet:Suddenly Carly:We Watched the Whale Rider

My teen brought in "The Whale Rider" and asked me to watch it again. It is a beautiful film on many levels; it covers man's anxieties; his ego, his imperfect and quarrelsome part and his loving part.

It is very wonderful to watch and the wonderful young woman in the film reminds me of a wonderful young woman I know in JLand; Ondine Monet.

Carly has had many tough times but she nevers lets them get her down. She fights like a tiger! And she succeeds in life, in friendhsip, in art and in love!:):)

That would have made many people arrogant but not Carly! She is very giving, open, receptive and loving!

People need her as a leader to look up to in JLand! Does she turn away; looking for sunnier climes? Does she bat an eyelash and disreguard a person?

No Not Carly!

Please leave comments for Carly and please tell us about your favorite leader and why they are your favorite! Please leave your link and if you choose to write an entry on this, please leave that link.TY!

Our Children: What Can and Should Parents do Today to Inform and Protect Them

(Introduction: This is a thread that has grown in Jland from discussions around children and teens, the old and new solutions for them as far as having friendships. What get togethers are okay to you ?(re:group movies or parties, etc.)

Teens also reacha point in theri life where they want to have a relationship

with someone of  their own sex and the opposite sex; but keeping their own dignity, health, and life. How should that be accomplished? Where do the parents fit in?

CBS

August, 2006

The discussion has included what people think about the new Plan B pill as well, and adults here have concluded that teens and young adults do not know about it much.(The PlanB pill can be used within 78 hours of getting pregnant. It causes the wall fo teh uterus to dislodge the egg so that the woman is not longer pregnant.)

I also think that, although it is FDA approved, the after effects of this pill are yet unknown. CBS, August, 2006.

Please let Jland know what you think.

9/11 2006: How We Remembered

Google did the pcitures

CBS

CBS showed a tons of beautiful long stemed roses laying in the memorail ponds at the 9/11 sight as relatives read out the namesof the victims of 9/11 in New York. The relatives or friend of the victim was standing on a new long ramp; very poignant!

Later a reporter interviewed the wife of the pilot of the plane that went down with her two daughters! Theyare wonderful! The girls and their mother were so proud of their father!Awesome!

I heard also from Bill that someone had thirty six flags put up in a field as a commemoration for the fallen policement he had known; each policeman had a flag!

They also featured two women from a non profit that they had created called:onegooddeed.com that seesk to help the victims and their families!

This morning CBS had some English police persons featured in uniform in theri early show. These men and women were touting the good that their non profit was doing to help victims! They said that they were happy that Americans were visitng England and that Amercians are alwasy welcome there.

I guess that the best news for me is that some people have helped and that many people have survived and some of them have thrived!

Please leave comments of good cheer!
