Martin Luther King Day: Let's Celebrate Our Hero

Google assembled these pictures

Let's celebrate Martin Luther King Day!

I have so many memories about Martin Luther King!

He stood up against blatant racism and in humane public policies, whether it be on the bus, in schools and in the work place. He created, along with others in this movement, the room for us to "not be confined" by our race, our neihgborhoods, our thoughts, but rather to have a broader prespective on our communities, our ways of thinking and our freedom.

I have always admired Ghandi as he did. Ghandi did much to "free" India so that India's people could be free to act and think and have an equal footing in the world.

What do you think?

Also, what do you perceive that Martin Luther King did to further America and the West?

TY

Nice entry Nat.  I wasn't taught a whole lot about him growing up in Canada- but have watched specials about him and admire the ways he tried to change society at the time through non violence and civil disobedience.  I think there will always be some issues with us, but on a whole, if he were allowed to live his whole life- he would have been proud of the accomplishments of so many hard working black Americans- from all walks of life who have achieved so much through hard work and determination. Thanks for a good topic!  Have a great week, and God Bless!  Carolyn

MARTIN LUTHER KING WAS A SINCERE CHRISTIAN.
OF COURSE HE COULD NOT WALK ON WATER THOUGH WHO CAN EXCEPT JESUS ?
HOWEVER, IN THIS PRESENT DAY, I BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE THOSE WHOM WOULD LIKE TO BE THOUGHT OF AS SIMILAR TO MARTIN LUTHER KING AND LEAVE MUCH TO BE DESIRED.          sam
