Barack O Bama: Is He the Next Charisma King?

Time

October 23, 2006

Time Magazine gave OBama the space to write about"My Spiritual Journey"; whihc is an excerpt from his new book"The Audacity of Hope". In this excerpt he describes how much he cares about what his constituents think about his verbage in his speeches and in his writing and when he thinks that he has offended someone, he tries hard to communicate and apologize and mend a rift ; therefore making a bridge with this person. Mr. Obama is amazing to many because of this enthusiasm and attitude!

Seriously he is a great man who attempts to work with both parties and who wants to improve things for everyone.

What do you think of him? Will you check out his new book? It's called "The Audacity of Hope."

Please leave good and bad impressions of the leader.

I love this guy. I always watch both conventions because I'm a registered "Independent" and vote both sides of the isle....depending. I had my back turned during the Democratic convention two years ago and I heard this man speaking and he was saying everything I think and I turned toward the TV and was shocked to see who I thought was a skinny kid. I had no idea he was over 40. He has "soul" and I hope he keeps it which isn't easy in politics.

I have honestly never heard of him, but politics aren't a real area of interest for me right now.

This man frightens me.  Often those who are charismatic are also out for power.  I pray he stays where he is until we see a proven candidate.  Blessings, Penny

I doubt I'll read it.  I've really not got much of an opinion of him- I've only heard him speak a few times, and I really wasn't too impressed.  I'll have to hear more from him, and the things that he stands for before I can form a proper opinion.  Thanks Nat- Carolyn

I've listend to the news reports and lectre snippets that he has done. He sounds interesting but, will he last or is he "out the door" when these mid-term elections are over? Regards, Bill.

I find him quite engaging yet still a bit over optimistic in his beliefs. My enthusiasm is not as strong as perhaps it ought to be cause I have seen the best meaning folks in his position destroyed in the nearly gangster like environment of the Senate. What I have heard of him is mostly positive and like his spunk but my fingers are crossed.

He is a good speaker.  I've watched him several times now and he always impresses one with his knowledge about the political situation and the world in general.  This upcoming race should be an interesting one..just starting with the nominations alone!  Sandi
